About Nighbitch
"Nightbitch" follows a stay-at-home artist coping with loneliness and exhaustion while caring for her toddler. Suddenly, one night, she undergoes mysterious changes, gaining sharper senses, new instincts, and a transformed voice within herself—transforming into a dog at night. With its bold narrative, the book is a compelling, humorous, and thought-provoking read.

Design Process
1. Understanding Requirements
Engaged in thorough discussions with the client to grasp the book's target demographic
and desired tone. Since this is a book tailored to young female adults, the client envisioned a lively, humorous tone, emphasizing the need to avoid a design that feels too weighty or serious.
2. Research and Concept Development
I delved into comparable books within the genre and scrutinized prevalent design trends. Inspired by a scene depicting the mother dancing with dogs in the forest, I opted to craft an illustration drawing influence from Matisse's renowned painting, "Dance", aiming to show the vibrant feeling of becoming a dog and the freedom from motherly duties depicted in the book.
3. Sketches and Ideation
I made initial rough sketches to explore layout ideas, colors, and potential visuals. The initial positive response from the client was encouraging and set the direction for further development.
4. Feedback and Revision
After gathering feedback from stakeholders, I continued refining the design. They specifically desired an eye-catching English title, so I experimented with different font styles and layouts to meet their expectations.

In the initial versions, there was feedback about the design being a bit busy. So, in subsequent versions, I simplified the layout. Additionally, adjusted the color scheme from pink to a more dynamic gradient, enhancing the cover's appeal and aligning it with the client's vision.
5. Final Touches
Chose Pearlescent paper for printing, adding a subtle sheen that elevated the visual impact of the gradient design.
