About
My design thrives on my love for books. Having worked as a book editor and a book designer, I see books as essential as daily bread. This project originated from a task assigned by a publishing house, which involved designing merchandise to promote daily reading habits.

Initially, I created a calendar that served dual purposes: a reminder to read daily and an aesthetically pleasing interior decoration. Now, I've transformed this concept into a dynamic 3D animation, aiming to make the act of reading leap out vividly.
Design Process
To combine reading with everyday life, I began by seeking items that mirror this theme in both form and essence. Here are my associations:

I created the 2D version using Adobe Illustrator. For the 3D rendition, I opted for bread, wine, and flowers, believing they lend themselves well to vibrant motions.
Design Decisions

Reading has become somewhat "outdated" in contemporary times, yet it also embodies a sense of nostalgia. To evoke this nostalgic sentiment, I opted for retro colors, warm lighting, and deliberately maintained the visual noise.
I opted for the big eyes not only to inject vibrancy into the design and maintain consistency across the three parts but also because they serve as indicators of motion direction.

Next Steps
As I haven't yet learned how to create sounds, my next goal involves delving deeper into sound effects and utilizing them to enhance the animation.
I aim to experiment with exaggerated camera angles to evoke diverse emotions and explore new perspectives.
Looking ahead, I aspire to craft animations with stronger storytelling elements in the future.
